In Ayurveda it is known as Apamarg. This Datun is also known as Ajjharjhar, Litjra and Chirchita in the regional language. This medicinal plant is considered a panacea for teeth. If you too have suffered from diseases like tooth decay and pyorrhoea and have toothache, then you can cure these dental diseases by consuming the juice of the leaves of Vajradanti plant. While talking to Local 18, Vaidya Chhotalal of rural area tells that to make foya by dipping cotton in the juice of 2-3 leaves of Apamarg. Applying it on teeth cures toothache. Apart from this, if there is a worm in the tooth, then you should put the juice of these leaves in the ear. The worm in your tooth will die.

Vaidya further said that Latjira is a herb and it has many medicinal properties. There are benefits from the use of Apamarga in the treatment of many diseases. The medicinal properties of Apamarga provide relief in many diseases including dental diseases, wounds, digestive system disorders. Its plant is small in appearance. Brushing teeth with the root of this tree for 10 days continuously provides relief from pyorrhea and gum pain. Along with this, yellow teeth also shine. Brushing teeth with this plant also cleans dirty teeth. At the same time, toothache, pyorrhoea, mouth ulcers and wounds are also cured.
Treat wounds like this
Vaidyas say that in case of wound, first of all boil the root of Apamarg in sesame oil and filter it. Apply it on the wound. This reduces the pain. The wound also gets healed there. It is also beneficial in skin diseases. By grinding its leaves and applying it, skin diseases like boils, pimples etc and lumps are cured.

Dr. RC Dwivedi said about Apamarg that there are two main species of this plant, white Apamarg and red Apamarg, which are used in medicine.
